Let The Beat Build is a Dallas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2019. LTBB uses music technology, life coaching, social-emotional learning, and mentorship to help young people build creative, technical, and personal skills. Its programs focus on under-resourced communities and are open to all.

BUILD IT stands for “Bridging Unique Ideas to Light & Drive Intentional Thinking.” It is LTBB’s core curriculum and framework, combining beat-making, music technology, life coaching, and social-emotional learning in a hands-on certification system. Students build technical mastery, emotional expression, and creativity as they progress.
Explore BUILD ITIDMT is LTBB’s flagship school program and a career-connected music production elective. Innovative Digital Music Technology blends production with math, English, science, social-emotional learning, business, and audio/visual arts. LTBB trains school staff and provides the full curriculum so the school owns the program.
Explore the IDMT pathwayA typical LTBB session is hands-on and interactive. Students use curated sound packs and music software for beat-making, sampling, genre blending, and AI songwriting. Sessions can include warmups, feedback circles, reflection, and role-play challenges such as the Sauce Boss Beat Auction.

Explore BUILD IT LabsThe IDMT curriculum covers grades 3 through 12 in three bands. Grades 3 to 5 focus on foundational building and digital storytelling, grades 6 to 8 deepen technical knowledge through creating, editing, and scoring multiple pieces, and grades 9 to 12 emphasize skill development and career preparation. The high school milestone is a capstone project and professional portfolio.

LTBB measures success through ongoing peer and instructor feedback, emotional check-ins, self-assessments, belt certifications, final performances, beat battles, and Sauce Boss rankings and auctions. Student growth assessments and music portfolio reviews add evidence of progress over time.
